Black is the most architectural expression of the SE 68. The dark wooden shell draws attention without dominating the room — precise, clear, and of timeless austerity.

The wooden shell is carefully sanded, stained, and dyed black; the steel frame is derusted and refurbished. Rubber buffers and glides are replaced with brand-new precision parts. What leaves the studio is restored and perfectly functional.

Each piece is photographed individually. What you see is exactly what you get.

Condition Restored — fully functional
Previous Use For decades, this chair stood in a lecture hall at the Ruhr University Bochum — one of the most significant examples of German Brutalism. Built in the 1970s, designed as a monument to the democratization of education. Where generations of students discussed, argued, and thought, the SE 68 stood as a silent witness. Today, it stands with you.
Restoration Details Wooden shell carefully sanded, stained, and painted black. Steel frame derusted and refurbished. Rubber buffers and glides replaced with new ones. Restored by Julius Cropp, Cabinetry & Restoration Workshop, Kronberg.

materials
