Atelier Merkando is not a furniture dealer. We are two idealists who believe that the best doesn't have to be new — just authentic.

We specialize in a single chair: the SE 68 by Egon Eiermann, designed in 1951, unsurpassed to this day in its reduction and precision. Not because it is readily available. But because it deserves to be preserved.

Each piece we offer has been painstakingly sourced by hand — online, through private listings, at auctions and flea markets. Only those that convince us in substance and condition make it to our studio. There, they are carefully restored, stained if necessary, and fitted with new precision parts. What leaves the studio is made to last for decades.

We don't believe in collections. We believe in that one piece that transforms a room — and that will look just as good twenty years from now as it does today.
